I talked about taxes before. I will work at getting my taxes done in very early March to get the refund as soon as possible. Probably talk about ways of organizing your paper at that time. Ideas would be welcome, emailing ideas will be shared.

This first day of the year is an obvious day to review your business and seek home based business support. This next week I will get calls asking for support, asking how to improve the business of the person I am talking to.

We are located to the right of the cam back up the hill about 40 feet in elevation. You will notice that the weather in the area is available on that site too. I'm writing this the afternoon of 31 December 2011. The key is how much income is left in your business for you at the end of the month or the year. It is almost tax time, we are approaching dealing with the tax man. In the last month we have all made decisions around our taxes. How much equipment or software to buy so to get rid of as much taxes as we can manage. Lots of decisions to make depending on your tax bracket and on the income you are making from your business and in my case since I am still full time employed how I can use business expenses to offset some of my earned income.

I don't give tax advice but encourage you to organize your affairs so that you pay the tax you must. But don't pay too much tax, the term I think is tax avoidance not tax evation. Take this up with your accountant or financial advisor.

Oh and don't forget Butch Hamilton's training . Make a resolution tonight to go in and start looking at the training videos. Request to be given current information. Do this now before you forget.

Five Good Reasons You Should Start a Home Based Business

So you want to start a home business? There are many reasons why having your own home based business can be important to you. Here are a few to consider:

1. You need money, your job doesn't pay enough or you just lost your job.
2. You need retirement income.
3. You need money for debts you have now prior to retirement or after retirement.
4. You need to get out of a job you hate.
5. You know there are tax advantages to owning your own business.

Many people I talk to need money now. You have a job, maybe two jobs but they just don't pay enough. Or the other end of it you have just been downsized or expect to be downsized? You need to do something so that there is extra money coming in regularly and gradually increasing so you will have enoght to live on and do the things you really want and need to do for your family.

Some of us have retirement plans or you have no retirement saving at this point. It doesn't matter what country you live in you need more income in your retirement years. More than the government provides in any country. We all want more that is provided and more than we are able to save. This is a big need or those of us in the baby boom generation. We are looking for extra ways of making money that provide a steady increasing income into the future. Only your own business can do this.

We have debts we need to get rid of now. Think how much less income we need to live comfortably if we didn't have the debt we are carrying now? Examine your own situation. If you had five hundred dollars a month extra to put toward your credit card balance, your mortage, your caar payment how much easier would that make your life?

And those of us who have jobs we don't like, jobs we may have liked but are tired of doing now 10, 15, 20 years later. We may be well trained in them and would find it hard to leave. We would make so much less if we moved to something else, anything else.

Oh, the tax advantages, the expenses of the office and any staff are probably clear to most of us. If you are working from your home many expenses of the home can, if carefully documented, be set off against your business. A portion of the heating expenses in Labrador, a great issue here, is only one of the expenses of our home that can be charged to the business. Think about it a portion of all expenses of your home coming right off your income tax bill.

Positive Mindset - What You Can Do for Your Business You need to keep your mindset on track and your business will follow:

1. Know your WHY. Why are you starting a home business?
2. Avoid people who will run you down.
3. Stay in contact with leaders in your business, those who are successful now.
4. Stay focused on key things you have identified that really make your home based business work. Don't waste time on other activities.
5. Read or listen to the masters. Find someone who inspires you, who you can follow.

You must know why you are doing your home business. Keep it in front of you all the time, your list, a picture or two. Keep the goal firmly in your mind. A good example of this is a story I heard that I have always remembered of a young sales person who had found a really nice home which he REALLY wanted. This was in the early 70's he was working on commission making a good living then but he needed $10,000 (a large sum then) by the end of the month to close on this house. Did he think how hard it would be get that money? No he went and got some pictures of his family and himself in and around that house. Then he set to work and by closing time on that home he had the money he needed.

Most of us don't have this kind of example in our own lives but we can learn from his focus, he carried those photos around with him looking at them often as he pushed himself to do the extra work that was necessary to meet his goal. Keep your WHY close to you visually, go over it in your mind after your prayers in the morning right through the day. Try it you will see a big improvement in your focus.

Avoid people who run down your dream. Sounds obvious, duh? Sounds that way but we all know of times when we have been deflected from our work by such people. Avoid people who do nothing but denigrate your dream of success in your home business.

Now that the negative bit is over lets concentrate on the positives. Get in touch and stay in personal touch with the leaders in your business. Watch them, listen to them, read what they write. I'm thinking it is sort of like trying to absorb a little of them. Putting their qualities together with the drive from your why: (why you started your home business) and your other good qualities, which we all have. By doing this you can potentially be even a better leader and have even more success than the leaders in your business now.

Tall order isn't it? But really think about it. Absorb all you can from your leaders their good qualities can become your qualities: watch, listen absorb.

Your new home business will have many activities. You need to focus on those activities that will move your business forward and will move you toward your goal (remember your why)? Don't spend time organizing your files, putting your stamps in piles, there are so many useless things to do. Get busy and identify specific activities the sales and or service the positive suppor to others that will make your home based business grow.

Finally listen to the masters. Those who have already been a huge success in your industry or in other areas of life. Find those who you want to emulate and read and study their lives.

Tie these ideas together in your life everyday and your mindset can't help but be lifted. Start now. Let me know what you are thinking.

Goals, you don't know where you are going, you will never get anywhere except where you are now. You are satisfied with where you are? If so no need to do anything but what you are doing now, no change no gain.

Two things: Your goals are or should be total or global goals. Look at all the aspects of your life. Think about your relationships, your job if you have one, your business, your financial situation, your health and what you can do about it. Think about how they fit together, how they conflict and what you can do about it.

You must use written goals. Use written goals as you can go back to check them out. You can change a written goal, reconfirm or update a goal if it hasn't been met. Congratulate yourself if you have met the goal.

Make sure your goal has a date of completion. A goal like I am going to pay off my credit card by the end of next year is good but you need to make interim goals. Break your goals down and how are you going to reach them, for example:

I need $20,000 to pay off my credit card debt you say by the end of next year. OK divide $20,000 by 13 months, just over $1,500 a month will pay off that debt. Now, how many people do you have to talk to in a month to make $1,500 more than you are now? How many people in your main business do you need to talk to, how many leads do you need, how many people will you have to get in your business to get that kind of money. Most people have never looked at it this way. You need to think only about how many people you need to talk to. Don't worry about what if any particular individual signing up in your business. If you do this it takes the pressure off you. If they join great if they don't move on to the next person, you have a goal in mind, remember that. Focus on sharing your business with more and more, and start to keep records. How many you are talking to? Soon you will discover some number like 3, to 5 people or more you must share with to get one person in your business. Lets say you make $25. when someone joins. So do the math, how many to make do you need to talk to in order to get an extra $1500. per month? Then you will know what you must do, how many good prospects you need to share your business with in order to get the extra income you need.

You WILL finding that if you will do this you will start to do better and better. You are working towards a particular goal and reaching it or coming close to it. You may then find that your goal needs to be adjusted up or down.

The important thing now is that you need to START this process. Think about all the goals you have for your life, all the parts of your life. Then pick interim goals, regarding money, regarding weight loss anything that makes sense. Keep your goals current. Once you start achieving, time to raise the bar even higher.

Now share this idea with others. Have others write out their goals just like you did in easy bite size pieces. Keep doing this and you will find that their business and yours will keep improving.

Much of your business is concerned with making money. You will find that I'm certainly interested in making money but also will help you look at your business in a more reasoned way. Most of us will make money in the first couple of months and probably if you get your SEO right and work at your follow up you will start to make money within or shortly after those first months. Let us say you started off making, one hundred dollars.

You are thinking: "So I made $100.00 so what. I worked to make that much and it looks like I will make more but, $100.00 is nothing."

One hundred dollars is only part of my car payment, it doesn't go far at the grocery store. Next month I might make $250.00 then probably over $500 a month. So this extra money is just that, small amounts of extra money.

There are at least two ways of looking at this.
1. It seems that many bankrupcies and foreclosures could have been avoided with only an income change of only a few hundred a month. Not true with everyone but with many such cases.

2. How much would you need to put away in a bank to get that much return?

Banks being what they are you won't get 2% per year but lets say the interest rates change, lets say you could get 3%. Look at that $100.00 that we didn't think very much about: $100.00 X 12 divide that by 3% and you come up with $40,000.00. You didn't realize you had $40,000. working for you.

Another month or so so you expect $500.00 multiply by 12 equal $6,000. a year, now something to begin to talk about, divide by 3% equals $200,000. A pleasing sum to have working for you.

Use your own numbers, change the perchentages, anything you like. The message here is that cash flow, your income is the key. You are moving in the right idrection and you didn't realize how well you were doing.

As your income grows you may want to put some away in a bank or other investments. In the meantime help others get what they need from their business, encourage others, provide services to other business people. Concerntrate on your home business put keyword specific information out there and get excited by the money you are beginning to make.
